Turkey Day

Turkey Day is coming up on November 24th (the Wed. before Thanksgiving). This is our big, annual community celebration -- Shabazz's Homecoming! We welcome our alums, our current students' immediate families, and our district community partners. One of the main events of the day is the Talent Show. Audition signups have been slow-going. So, if you wish to perform at Turkey Day, please sign up for an audition spot on Denise's door. We will have several 1st hour auditions and lunch hour auds in the next two weeks. Auditions will close and the program will be finalized on Friday, November 19.

New Quarter Already

Wow, folks! It is already the start of the second quarter. Welcome to all of the new students to Shabazz. Welcome back to all of the returning students. We have an exciting and busy quarter ahead of us with Turkey Day and Winter Break. Let's get off to a great start and make this the best quarter EVER!

Fourth Quarter

Today was the first day of the last quarter of the 2009-2010 academic year. It appears that we are off to a great start. Most of the students were in attendance today. Senioritis was at a minimum. Students, overall, were in good spirits (as was the staff). Laughter was in abundance.

This final quarter of the year always flies along at an unbelievable pace. Enjoy it! Learn as much as you can. Try new ideas and activities. Challenge yourself to grow.

If you are a senior on schedule to graduate in June, take a bit of time to reflect on your high school experience. The graduation ceremony will soon be upon us. We hope that you will have a few things to say as we hand you the mic and watch you cross the stage to enter the next portion of a great life.
